Because this Wiki is editable by anybody, and in many cases anonymous, we don't aim to provide original information, but instead to collect and summarise from reliable sources. For that reason, adding references to claims or statements in an article helps a great deal.

It's hard to verify whether information is accurate or not when it's written out of nowhere without references.
